Stephen A. Hess is a distinguished attorney, educator, and scholar whose practice encompasses two very different areas: construction law, and Olympic and international sports law.


In the construction arena, he has nearly four decades engaged in the practice of construction law and litigation. In addition to his practical experience counseling clients and representing their interests in courts, arbitrations, and administrative tribunals, Mr. Hess serves as Adjunct Professor at the University of Denver's Sturm College of Law. He brings to his services the benefit of extensive work in writing and editing national construction law treatises and journals, as well as a number of professional treatises covering Colorado legal practice. Mr. Hess also serves as a neutral in the mediation and arbitration of construction disputes.


Mr. Hess is active in Olympic and international sports law, in which he counsels many National Governing Bodies on the myriad business and sports law issues they face. He also serves as a jurist for two International Federations, and is active in advising associations with respect to sports integrity programs and issues.
